Specialty Fabrication Solution: CC-EFI Helps Park System Keep the Change

The machine is secured from thieves and vandals, while access to customers is maintained.

Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, was having significant problems with vandals breaking into their vending machines. Every night, therefore, the park’s staff were having to move the machines into a building.

Parks Concession Supervisor Lloyd Ohler called on Conveyer & Caster – Equipment for Industry to find a way to protect the machines. Conveyer & Caster – Equipment for Industry engineers determined that a specially fabricated vending machine security cage was in order. The fabrication department of Conveyer & Caster – Equipment for Industry went to work to develop a solution. One that would allow customers to access the machine, all of the buttons, the coin and bill collectors, and retrieve the dispensed product, while providing strong protection from would-be thieves.

Since the cages were installed, the parks no longer have to lock the machines in a building at night, and have not been broken into since. The next time Westmoreland County Parks needs any fabrication, they will look to Conveyer & Caster – Equipment for Industry to meet their needs.

Customers can easily access all controls through the cage.
