TENTE Casters, Inc. was incorporated in the state of Kentucky, September 5, 1979, under the name of American Tente Casters, Inc. TENTE began is operation in a small office in Florence, Kentucky. By 1982, the company had to relocate to its own factory with administration offices. Land was purchased on Cox Avenue in Erlanger, Kentucky, to build the factory. Within four years (1986) of moving to its new location, the first expansion was needed due to increased sales and success of the company. This expansion was completed by spring of 1987. American Tente Casters, Inc. started to manufacture and assemble more and more products in the United States and the business continued to grow. This warranted a second expansion at the Cox Avenue facilities by 1989.
American Tente Casters, Inc. changed its name to TENTE Casters, Inc. on January 1, 1989. Business continued to grow and TENTE Casters, Inc. needed more space to fill customer orders. Therefore, to better serve customers’ needs in the U.S., a new, 44,000 square-foot facility was built in Hebron, Kentucky, in 1991. Operations began in November 1991 and the official grand opening was held May 15, 1992.
TENTE Casters, Inc. received ISO 9002 certification January 15, 1996. Quality policies, adherence to policies, and customer and supplier involvement will all be guided by ISO 9002 standards. A new 24,000 square-foot high-rise warehouse was added in May 1996. Today, TENTE has over 1,000 employees worldwide, and approx. 80–90 employees in Northern Kentucky. TENTE is an active member of the ICWM (Institute of Caster and Wheel Manufacturers), the MHIA (Material Handling Industry of America), and the NASFM (National Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers).
