Custom Storage Solution: High-Density Sliding Track System

At Conveyer and Caster – Equipment for Industry, one thing we like to pride ourselves on is approaching each project with a fresh and open mindset. By working with some of the industry’s top manufacturers and vendor partners, we are able to come up with creative and innovative solutions to our customers’ unique needs.

We are often approached by customers looking to maximize available space within their warehouses. One often overlooked area is the bottom section of pallet racking. This space is often used for small case and loose part storage, however, items like those can not be efficiently stored on pallets. This makes it difficult for pickers to pull orders, and frequently forces them to move and re-stack cases, inevitably slowing them down.

This high-density sliding track system utilizes traditional wire shelves. The design includes a v-groove track installed on the floor that kept the shelves in line, while allowing them to easily slide back and forth between rack sections. Bearings are located under each post of the shelving units, giving each a 1,500-pound load capacity.

This solution allows users to increase under-rack storage capacity by up to 150% – all while using your existing racks – while also limiting the disruption to normal operations during installation. Smaller cases easily fit on the shelves, and small parts can be stored within plastic bins. This system allows your pickers to safely and efficiently pull orders. Additionally, the space between shelves allows both people and carts to pass through, complying with ADA standards.

Do you have a unique storage need? Conveyer & Caster – Equipment for Industry can put together a custom solution to help you increase employee safety and efficiency, while also maximizing existing space within your warehouse. Find out the potential your warehouse has to offer.
